Ruling PPM Vice President and Fonadhoo Constituency MP Abdu Raheem Abdullah has stated that supporters of a no confidence motion on the President will be defeated from within the Parliament.
Speaking in TVM Abdu Raheem said that the opposition has been aiming to file a motion of no confidence on the President at this critical juncture in national affairs. However, he said that such motions will be defeated from within the Parliament.
He said that the PPM Parliamentary Group is a united front and cannot be easily split. Abdu Raheem also said that members from MDA and JP are also allied with PPM.
“JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim has been working with the Government since the incident. He said he is willing to cooperate fully with the Government on this, because this is concerning for him too,” Abdu Raheem said.
