The bore hole mining vessel, which will extract oil from the sea bed, has arrived in the country.
Speaking to Miadhu, Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee stated that the vessel was an international one, equipped with German scientists who had previously worked on the project. He added that the project was an international one, carried out with the assistance of international partners.
The vessel will drill 3 or 4 locations to extract samples on this trip. Tests will be carried out on the sample to determine if oil exists and what type of oil.
The project is a multi-phase one, based on the information gained from the research carried out in the previous phase.
