Youth and Sports Minister Ahmed Zuhoor has commended Jumhooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim has always been an exemplary patriot and that this was evident from his actions after the explosion aboard the Presidential speedboat.
He made the statement speaking in the VTV Fasmanzaru program Thursday night.
Zuhoor said that every person is a free thinker and that Qasim is no exemption to that, especially given that he is the leader of a democratic party. Nevertheless, he said that with the explosion Qasim had stepped forward expressed his concern, which is an admirable example of a true patriot. He called on all other parties to follow Qasim’s example.
Following the President’s brief to PPM, MDA and JP Parliament Members of the explosion on the Presidential speedboat, Qasim expressed his concern over the incident and said that he was in solidarity with the Government.
Senior officials of the Government have reported that Qasim visited the First Lady daily, since she was hospitalized following the incident.
