Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader Qasim Ibrahim has stated that the party will still work with the Government within the legal mandate and will always remain in the service of the public.
He made the statement after taking part in the meeting held by President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom to disclose the latest developments of the explosion aboard the Presidential speedboat.
Qasim said that the President had fully disclosed all available information regarding the case. However, he refrained from revealing additional details about the case as the investigation was still on going.
Qasim added that President Yameen had not requested anything from the MPs and said that the investigation on the case was proceeding fairly and independently. He said that it was vital that the case underwent full scrutiny in order to ensure that such actions did not occur in the future and endanger the future of the nation.
Members of JP Parliamentary Group, as well as JP PG Deputy Leader Abdullah Riyaz took part in the meeting.
