State Minister for Education Ministry Dr. Abdullah Nazeer has stated that educated students are the biggest asset to the economy.
Speaking in the prize day ceremony of Majeedhiyyaa School for last year, Dr. Nazeer stated that education and educated students were the biggest assets to the nation’s economy. He also said that education was the insurance that guaranteed social security.
Dr. Nazeer also stressed that students have to be taught proper values and urged teachers to teach and show such values, especially, respect for others. He added that in all societies, there were people from different walks of life and all had to live in harmony for the society and nation to function properly.
Dr. Nazeer said that education was a right for everyone and a powerful tool, which facilitated technological progress and innovation. He stressed that attaining knowledge was highly stressed in Islam as well.
He also noted that right to education was initiated by Maldives 83 years ago in the constitution.
