Those calling to boycott tourism must take responsibility: Yameen
President Abdulla Yameen Adul Gayoon has said that there are people calling out to boycott tourism in Maldives, which is one of the most vital sources of income for the country and added that they must take responsibility for it.

He said this in a press statement issued on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The statement stated that since tourism is the biggest industry in Maldives, any progress in the industry is a progress for the citizens of Maldives. He also said that everyone working together to promote tourism is a step forward for the countries development.

He pointed out and condemned the fact that there are both internal and external factors calling to boycott tourism. He also added that those calling out for the boycott must take responsibility for any consequences that arise as a result of their actions.

President Yameen stated that anyone who loves Maldives and its citizens would not try to prevent the growth of this vital economic sector.
