Maldivian lawyers should rise to defend Ahmed’s clock
Maldivian lawyers should rise up to the challenge of recovering Ahmed’s clock from police custody in Texas. Police had declared Ahmed to be innocent of the charges against him. However, to this date the clock he painstakingly created still remains in police custody.

Speaking to ABC news on Wednesday, Ahmed had called to release his invention, especially given that US President Barak Obama had invited him to demonstrate his invention in the White House.

This arguably is the time when Maldivian lawyers can shine, given the magnitude of the case, which involves children’s rights, US courts and justice system and UN charters. Additionally, loss of Ahmed’s rights is a pressing concern in the case. He was arrested, denied legal representation and he was arrested without informing his parents.

Therefore, it can be argued that Maldivian lawyers can represent Ahmed successfully, given the large pool of talent and inability of US to carry out such a mission.
