President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that if political leaders wished to serve the nation then they should work to resolving national issues instead of engaging in political rivalries with other politicians.
Speaking in the second forum held to train campaign managers for “President Yameen 2018”, President Yameen said that the program was not initiated to compete against a party. However, he said that the purpose of the Forum was to find solutions for major issues facing the nation.
President Yameen added that the work carried out by his campaign office was work that was beneficial to the future of the nation, while the opposition was determined to destroy the progress made by the Government.
He said that the opposition, when they were in power, they had attempted to boycott the nation’s tourism sector. President Yameen added that they had relied on the threat of international sanctions and other measures.
President Yameen said that there were many aspects of the nation that needed rectification and that his aim was to ensure that these issues were resolved within the shortest period of time.
