President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that no one should be targeted for his personal beliefs and statements.
He made the statement delivering the key note address at the closing ceremony of “President Yameen 2018” election forum held to train campaign leaders.
President Yameen said that he condemned the attack on a youth carried out the previous night in the strictest terms. He also said that while the Government was working to combat major crimes, there was still much to do. He expressed his sympathies with the victim’s family.
President Yameen said that such crimes need to be stopped. He added that if a person had committed murder, then he will enforce the death penalty under the “Yes Campaign’s Security Angle” for the public good.
