Local carrier, Mega Maldives and Live Board Maldives has signed an MOU to work jointly to develop tourism in the country.
Speaking in the signing ceremony held yesterday morning, Mega Maldives Director Strategy and Business Development MIfzal Ahmed stated that the Live Board Maldives was a key partner and key player in the tourism sector. He added that Mega was quite interested in partnering with such an organization.
He added that looking at the sector, properties providing three- and four- star service were less and that the Live Board association had targeted at this market niche. Mifzal said that Mega will provide assistance to the association in marketing the destination.
He said that Mega will give a discount to travelers purchasing holidays from Live Board as well as special rates for cargo handling. Additionally, Mifzal said that the company will market the association in the HongKong tourism fair as well.
Live Board Association of Maldives’ President Hussain Haleem stated that this partnership was extremely beneficial to the association and that the association will receive a boost in their operations due to the deal. He assured that the Association was a key partner in the economy and added that they needed the assistance of many parties to ensure that the Association was a success.
