A state funeral was held for the late Abdullah Hameed, who had served the nation for over 56 years was held yesterday after Isha prayers.
President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom, Former President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom, Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor, state officials and many members of public attended his funeral. He was laid in state from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM in Islamic Center.
President and First Lady, Vice President, state dignitaries and members of public paid last respects to him.
Funeral prayers were led by Former President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom. Abdullah Hameed was laid to rest in Galolhu Cemetry, near to his late Father, Abdul Qayyoom Seedhee.
