Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has stated that Maldives had always addressed the issue of waste disposal and that it is time that waste management has to be prioritized.
He made the statement speaking to press after concluding the 3R Forum held in Dharubaaruge.
Minister Thoriq stated that with this Forum, Maldives had proven their commitment to waste management and environment issues. He added that many experts from the field had taken part in the Forum and cited that this was proof of how successful the Forum was.
Thoriq stated that in the Forum 33 nations and 256 representatives from UN took part in the Forum. He added that this was by far one of the largest international Forums held in Maldives. Minister Thoriq
stated that Maldives will seek to implement the agreed principles of the 3R Forum.
The next 3R Forum will be held next year in Australia
