Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Rajiv Shahare has stated that India will always remain as a development partner to the nation.
He made the statement in his keynote address given at the flag hoisting ceremony held in the Commission to mark the 69th Independence Day of India.
Shahare stated that two nations has held long standing ties boosted by developmental projects that offered mutual gains. He assured that this will continue in the future. Shahare added that India had successfully contributed to the health sector, education sector, human resource development and infrastructure development in the past.
He also noted that every Indian Prime Minister had visited the Maldives, which was a clear sign of the close partnership between the two nations. Shahare said that he also hoped that Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi will visit Maldives soon.
