Constitution Day marked
The National Constitution Day has been marked.

To mark the occasion a special ceremony was held in Hotel Jen Friday evening by Attorney General’s Office.

The first edition of the first chapter of the all the laws passed and ratified in the nation was officially unveiled by President’s Office’s Legal Secretary and former Attorney General Aishath Bisham.
The opposition had called on the Government to fully analyze, compile and submit to the Parliament in order to bring about the changes to the Constitution.

The National Constitution Day is marked annually on the 7th of August, to mark the ratification of the new Constitution by former President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom seven years ago.
Jumhooree Party Leader was the Speaker of the Special Parliament that had compiled the Constitution. He formed Jumhooree Party following the ratification.
