Family of Ahmed Rilwan Abdhulla, the Minivan News journalist missing since the night of 7th August, has sent a letter to the Speaker of the Peoples’ Majlis requesting him for the assistance and cooperation of the Peoples’ Majlis in finding Rilwan.
The letter addressed to the Speaker of the Peoples’ Majlis, Abdulla Maseeh was signed by Rilwan’s mother Aminath Moosa.
In the letter, Aminath Moosa beseeched the Speaker of the Majlis, prioritise this important case, and for the sake of all Maldivians, question commissioner of police to find out the truth.
“I plead with you, find out how my son is. Please take all necessary steps through the Majlis,” she said.
Although the family wanted to hand over the letter to Speaker himself, due it not being possible they submitted the letter at the Majlis secretariat.
Rilwan’s family and friends including his mother and his siblings held a peaceful protest infront of the Majlis.
Aminath Moosa pleaded the Police guards in front of the Majlis to find her son Rilwan.
“Please give us some satisfying news. Please, I am pleading with you,” she begged.
Meanwhile, the family stated that they will award MVR 50,000 to anyone who brings authentic information leading to Rilwan’s location.
