MEGA Maldives and the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) today signed a charter agreement to carry the Maldives Olympic Team to the upcoming 9th Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG), which is due to be held in the Réunion Islands.
The Charter Agreement signed between the two parties would enable MEGA Maldives to fly directly from Male’ to the Réunion Islands, thus avoiding the need to go through transit hubs in the Middle East and Asia. It will also ensure that the full contingent of Maldivian athletes, officials and journalists arrive promptly and comfortably at their final destination.
At the signing ceremony held at the MEGA Maldives Corporate Headquarters in Male’, Mr. Shiin Thomas, the Director of Sales and Commercial signed the Charter Agreement on behalf of MEGA Maldives, while Mr. Hussain Rasheed, the Treasurer of the Maldives Olympics Committee signed on their behalf.
MEGA Maldives are doing the outbound journey of the athletes. They initially bid to carry the athletes back as well, but on the request of the Olympic Committee agreed to share the honour with Island Aviation. The athletes will be returning home on Maldivian flights.
MEGA Maldives is proud to be the outbound carrier for the Maldives team taking part in the IOIG, and wish them every success at the Indian Ocean Island Games.
