Gerard Mendis, the Chairman of the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka has said that he will work to provide training opportunities for Maldivian Chefs in Sri Lanka.
Mendis made this remark speaking opening ceremony of this year’s Hotel Asia Exhibition and Culinary Challenge held at Dharubaaruge.
He said that with many foreign chefs working in Maldives it is very important for Maldivians too to get the right training and work in culinary field.
Mendis who has been coming to Maldives since 1993 as a judge for culinary exhibitions said that he is proud of the progress and success of Maldivian Chefs.
Meanwhile, the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka assisted the Maldives establish a Chefs Guild which was inaugurated yesterday.
