Commissioner General of Customs, Abbas Adil Riza has stated that the Maldives Customs Service plays an integral part in the economy of the country.
Speaking in PSM’s Raajje Miadhu program Abbas said that the Service had an integral role in the development and investments of the economy.
Abbas stated that presently there were 24 resorts under development, which would greatly benefit the economy, with thousands of job opportunities available. He added that as such the Service has a critical role to play in the development of the sector, in speedily supplying the required materials and resources for the sector.
He added that the Customs was fully prepared for the challenges of the role and the added that the Service had already begun to yield results.
