President’s Office Minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) has stated that the best aspect of the “Riyaasee Dharubaaru” and “Riyaasee Jaafaiy” is the fact the two events provide a 100 percent Maldivian experience.
Mundhu, who is also the co-Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Minivan 50 activities, stated that the two events, hosted by the President and the First Lady, are to be held in Usfasgandu area. The area is under preparation for the two events. Mundhu reported that the event is carried out Maldivians and reflect Maldivian heritage and customs.
Mundhu added that the official Independence Day ceremony was not held last year to conserve finances for this year, to mark the Golden Jubilee of the occasion.
Around 1000 dignitaries are set to take part in the two events, making this the largest such event to be held in the country.
