Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has stated that the Force would need to conduct an extensive operation in order to lift the TMA flight that had sunk upon landing near Kuredu Island Resort.
Speaking to Miadhu, MNDF Media Coordinator Major Adnan Ali stated that the flight has sunk very deep and as such, they would need to conduct an extensive operation to lift the boat.
Adnan stated that the luggage compartment had opened by itself during the accident and that they have been able to recover all the luggage form the flight. However, he said that the flight had not been physically touched by any personnel.
At the time of the accident, there were 11 passengers, two pilots and one crew were in the flight. None of them were harmed in the accident.
Even though some flights of TMA had met with some such accidents, an accident of this magnitude where an intensive operation needed to be carried out had not occurred.
Civil Aviation Authority has stated that authority is conducting investigations into the crash.
