If atoll councils had power there will be resorts operated in Haa Dhaal Atoll- Shahudi
Hanimadhoo constituency MP, Hussein Shahudee has said that if the atoll council of Haa Dhaal had been granted their due authority by the government then there will be resorts operated in that atoll today.
Shahudi said that the reality is that not all of the councils in Maldives are politicized and Haa Dhaal atoll council is a role model in this regard.
“Our Haa Dhaal atoll council represents all of the parties. MDP, PPM, JP and Adhaalath Party. However they work as a united team. They work with a united spirit. They are not biased to a political ideology,” he said.
Shahudi noted the efforts of the council to bring an end to the dormant state of the islands allocated for developing resorts in the atoll.
He also said that the council is also working to get more opportunities to develop resorts in the atoll.
“They are working hard. They have travelled to Male’ twice in this regard. All island councils have raised concern to the government for the lack of tourist resorts in out atoll. The best island in the atoll, Vaikaramuradhu is now used for farming. All island councils have made a petition calling the authorities to change these islands to tourist resorts,” he said.
