Senior officials of the Government has reported that President Abdullah Yameen has ordered Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed to return home.
Dr. Jameel left Maldives for a two day medical leave to Sri Lanka, but made an impromptu trip to United Kingdom.
It has been reported that Dr. Jameel had called President Yameen yesterday morning and requested an extension to his holiday.
However, President Yameen had stated that Dr. Jameel needs to answer to PPM Parliamentary Group and then he can continue his holiday.

Dr. Jameel left for Sri Lanka last Thursday, after getting the required permission from the President. However, a Government official reported that Dr. Jameel had departed to London via Doha on Qatar Airways without reporting to President Yameen. Members from ruling PPM had accused Dr. Jameel of failing to meet his duties. Instead of Dr. Jameel, PPM MPs reported that they wish to instate Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb to the position.
