Opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Vice President Shifaz has stated that the Party will make a decision on changing the Vice President mid-term, if it was in the best interest of the nation.
Speaking in MDP headquarters Monday night Shifaz stated that the changes to the age criteria for the President and Vice President comes at a time when the whole nation was abuzz with the rumors that Vice President would be removed from power.
Shifaz said that as MDP was the largest political party and as such MDP would also be reflecting on an issue as severe as this. He added that MDP would be reflecting on the contributions the Vice President
had contributed in previous times and during his tenure as Vice President.
Ruling PPM had already announced that some MPs from MDP would be voting for the amendment.
