Official Saudi figures have reported that around 1.5 million Muslims have performed prayers in the Kabaa in Mecca and Medina Mosque, the two of the holiest sites in Islam, on the first two days of the Ramadan.
Saudi King, Salman had ordered Governor of Mecca, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, to oversee the two sites and to attend to the needs of the pilgrims at the earliest. As such, King Salman had ordered his Cabinet to ensure that Umrah pilgrims can complete their pilgrimage with the lease amount of discomfort.
Senior Guardian of the Kabaa in Mecca, Imam Sheikh Abdu Rahmaan Al Sudhais stated that around 12,000 have been employed this year to attend to the needs of the pilgrims.
