Trial of protesters, who had called for the freedom of former President Mohamed Nasheed in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, has been scheduled for the sixth of August.
It has been reported that court summons have been handed out for the co-respondents of the case.
The State has pressed charges against Male’ City Council Deputy Mayor Shifa Mohamed, AminathZahira of G. Aakaashvilla, AminathZimna of M. Thanthaara, AminathDhumainaaIrushad of Ma. Beach House, AminathShaneez Saeed of M. Nirolhu, MariyamZubair of Kalhumagige S. Hulhudhoo, Fareesha Ahmed of H. Tivegaalight, FathimathRasheedha of Male’ Municipality Special Register number 5866, Zahra Moosa of Donan Gn. Fuvahmulah, Yumna of M. Fehifaiy, KhadheejaaShadhiya of Shedless S. Hithadhoo, Shameema Adam Fulhu of M. New Hilman, ShafiyyaaZubair of H. Veyovilla and Mohamed Ibrahim Manik of Ma. Naaringuge.
The charges against all are charges of obstruction of Police duty. The verdict of the case was to be announced yesterday. However, issuing the verdict was delayed as the presiding judge Shujau Usman was shifted to the High Court position.
