Ministry of Law and Gender has been formally relocated to GalolhuBilloorijehige premises, which previously served as the offices for Male’ City Council.
Gender Ministry’s Executive Director Ahmed Saeed reported that the relocation had already begun and that all services of the Ministry will be available starting Sunday. He added that the phone numbers of the Ministry will not be changed.
The Ministry was previously run in Huravee building. The Ministry was shifted to SHE building last April. Following the move to SHE building the Ministry noted that there was a severe shortage of space and as a result employees of the Ministry had to work on shift duties.
Huravee building was later designated as office space for Male’ City Council.
It has to be noted that 60 civil servants had filed a petition to Civil Service Commission (CSC) requesting an audit of the safety and working conditions of Huravee building. CSC had decreed that premises were unsafe.
