President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali has called on the opposition forces to ally with the Government and work to ensure that public interests were upheld.
He made the statement in a tweet posted on his twitter on Saturday. Muaz called on opposition to reflect on the greater good and to ally with the Government to ensure that the nation’s development was secured for all.
Muaz noted that the public support for the present Government was astounding and that this was a sign that the majority had accepted President Yameen’s Government.
He made the tweet following the win for ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) candidate FarishMaumoon in Dhiggaru Constituency by-elections, by a majority.
PPM reported that the Party will hold celebrations in all islands of the Constituency to mark the win.
