The Finance Minister Abdulla Jihad who was summoned to yesterday’s sitting of the Peoples’ Majlis was sent back without any questions asked.
The Minister was sent back following disruptions to the sitting due to the members repeatedly taking point of orders.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily following this incident, Jumhooree Party’s Parliamentary Group Deputy Leader and Kinbidhoo constituency MP Abdulla Riyaz said that if a government minister is summoned to the Majlis then an environment which allows members to pose their questions to the minister should be created.
Abdulla Riyas said that the ministers have many important responsibilities connected to the pulse of the people and therefore their time should not be wasted like that.
According to Speaker Maseeh, deliberations with political leaders were being carried out to resolve the issue.
