Talks held to increase Indian support in health sector
Health Minister Iruthisham Adam has held discussions with Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Rajiv Shahare to increase Indian assistance to the Maldives in the health sector for the future.

The discussions were carried out in the meeting held today between the two. This is the first time Minister Iruthisham had met with the Indian High Commissioner following her appointment to the position.

It has been reported to Miadhu that the discussions had been centered on bringing in specialist doctors for visiting consultations. Additionally, High Commissioner Shahare had shared details of the International Yoga Day to be held in Male’ on the 21st of this month.

India has been the biggest contributor to the nation’s health sector. As such, india has held health camps in various parts of the country in addition to lending expertise and equipment to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Senahiya. The health camps have provided consultations, free medication and free spectacles to the patients.
