Indian Cultural Centre Celebrate 3rd Anniversary
The Indian Cultural Centre of the High Commission of India celebrated 3rd Anniversary of its establishment in Maldives on Saturday, 16th August 2014 in which Maldivian Ministers, Senior Maldivian Officials, Parliamentarians, Academics, Diplomatic Corps, Representatives of Indian Community attended the programme. Teachers and students of the Indian Cultural Centre presented Yoga, Instrumental Music (Tabla) and various Classical and Folk Dances of India.
His Excellency, High Commissioner of India, Shri Rajeev Shahare spoke on India’s composite culture and shared the similarities of both the countries. He especially commented the role of both the countries in shaping the destiny of their country and emphasized the need to work closely.
Director, Indian Cultural Centre, Mohammed Khaliq thanked the gathering for attending the function and hoped that the tradition which His Excellency High Commissioner of India has established would continue to grow in coming years.
It would be pertinent to mention that the Indian Cultural Centre, since the last three years, has played a significant role in propagating the vast mosaic of Indian Culture and in bringing in understanding and appreciation of the Cultures of the two countries.
