Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim has said that he is ready to do anything within the confines of the constitution for the sake of the people and the nation.
With the police banning the use of four wheeled vehicles during protests, the opposition used a two wheeled hand cart to carry the sound system during the Friday “To End Oppression” protest.
The hand cart was cart was drawn by the leaders of the opposition during the protest.
While drawing the hand cart, Ameen Ibrahim said that the voice of the people cannot be silenced regardless of the burdens they have to take for their sake.
He said that he will not shy away from drawing the hand cart for the sake of the people regardless whether he is the Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party or a former Minister.
Ameen said that the opposition will make whatever sacrifices necessary for the sake of the people.
He said that the world has shown that all governments who oppressed their people end in failure. He said that the people will eventually will gain victory and end the oppression.
