Former Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO), Adam Azim has said that the people elected the current government to protect their rights and to establish a good governance.
He said that the government has betrayed the trust of the people by spreading tyranny and oppression throughout the country.
Azim also noted that the government, which came to power with a pledge of creating about 94,000 vacancies are now being oppressive by sacking all employees who are against oppression.
He added that sacking and threatening employees who join the opposition movement is violating their most basic rights.
Furthermore, Azim said that no one should be threatened as such, since freedom of expression is a right granted to them by the Constitution.
He said that the people will not be intimidated with these fear mongering tactics used by the government.
Azim said that the people will continue to stand up against oppression and tyranny regardless how many people the government sacks or arrests and imprisons.
