Up bringing children in Kudakudhinge Hiya might not be the best choice- Anil
Minister of Law and Gender, Mohamed Anil has said that he does not believe that upbringing and managing the affairs of children in Kudakudhinge Hiya run by the state might not be the best choice in the long run.

Anil made this remark in his statement on the occasion of Children’s Day.

He said that there are more than 90 children in Kudakudhinge Hiya and they are kept there because of the lack of any other alternative to keep them safe.

“I believe that they will get the best upbringing if they grow up in a responsible family. Therefore the ministry opened since long the opportunity to adopt such children. We are still continuing to hand over children for families seeking adoption. Many seek adoption of babies and toddlers therefore children over that age in the Kudakudhinge Hiya has a less chance of getting adopted. I urge all who can provide assistance to provide a helping hand to even these children,” he said.

Anil sent his greetings and good wishes to the children of Maldives, and their parents and guardians, on the occasion of the country’s Children’s Day.

He said that a successful future could be secured for the children by providing them quality education and better upbringing.

He also stressed the importance of ensuring a safer environment, and a healthier lifestyle for our children.
