17 super specialist doctor have been brought to Maldives. This is the second time super specialist doctors are brought to Maldives under the new program commenced by Aasandha.
The Super Specialist program is currently being conducted across twenty-two hospitals in the country, while the doctors have even begun their treatment on patients in Male and the atolls.
Mujhuthaba Jaleel - the CEO of the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) - said that in spite of the numerous applicants having submitted to the first round of the “Super Specialist” Program, only a few were able to have appointments from the specialists. As such, he said that they are working on providing the same opportunities to those applicants who have missed the appointments.
The super specialist doctors are "super stars" in their subspecialty. Each specialist is hand-picked based on their area of expertise (subspecialty) and the complexity of problem.
