Lawyer of Jumhooree Party’s Deputy Leader Ameen Ibrahim, Ahmed Shafeeg has said that Ameen takes the right to remain silent at Police detention because he has no connection to the charges that are made against him by the Police.
Shafeeg said that none of the charges are related to Ameen regardless how long the list is. He said that Ameen does not believe that he broke any law.
The lawyer said that Ameen is a respected law abiding citizen and he did not break any laws. Anyone who listens to the speeches of Ameen will know that he does not instigate or call others to break the law.
He said that Ameen uses his words during protests very carefully and gives special attention not to break any laws or make any such calls to others.
During Friday’s protest Ameen only called for the people to come out to the streets to make the government accountable for their oppression.
