Jumhooree Party’s Deputy Parliamentary Group Leader and Kinbidhoo constituency MP, Abdulla Riyaz has said that the investors’ confidence will increase if the right laws are made and it cannot increase by a decision made by a committee of the Peoples’ Majlis.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, following a meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Jumhooree Party, Abdulla Riyaz said that all of the members of the Jumhooree Party’s Parliamentary Group believe that the Economic Zone bill is a very important bill.
He said that they want to make opportunities for investors to make large investments in Maldives.
However, Abdulla Riyaz said that the President will be changing and the Committee members will also change. He said that if this is the case and if the committee is given all the authority then this will open room for corruption.
“This will increase the concerns of the investors,” he said.
He said that if what the investors want are mentioned in a law then there is no room for bribery and other acts of corruption.
Abdulla Riyaz said that if the law is made with all the details then the investors will have confidence to invest in Maldives.
