Police has arrested the President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla.
Sheikh Imran was arrested while he was at the residence of MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed at 11:20 last night.
The police states that Sheikh Imran was arrested under a court warrant. The court warrant stated that the reason for the arrest was instigating the people to rebel against the government.
In yesterday’s Mayday protest, Sheikh Imran accused the government leaders of having a hand in the brutal murder of Dr. Afrasheem Ali and the kidnapping of the journalist Ridwan.
Sheikh Imran said that the government is unable to investigate these cases because they have a hand in these cases.
