2 injured police officers sent abroad for treatment

Two police officers injured during yesterday’s Mayday protests have been sent abroad for further medical treatment.

Police revealed that there were given treatment at the hospital however they did not give any further details on how serious their injuries were.

Miadhu Daily was informed that the two officers were sent at 4:00 am to Sri Lanka.

Three other police officers were also injured last night. According to Police they were injured by getting hit by a pavement brick thrown by some protestors near Salsa Royal.

Four police officers were injured hit by a pickup used by the protesters.

Police used tear gas, rubber bullets, stun guns and pepper spray against opposition protesters who demanded President Yameen Abdul Gayoom resign and the jailed ex-president be freed.
