Adhaalath Party President, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has said that the mayday activities will be commenced from artificial beach area on Friday
at 3:45pm.
Sheikh Imran said that the protestors will march from Artificial beach to the west of Male’ on Majeedheemagu. He said that the protestors will stop at places and different people will give speeches.
“We will stop at the west end of Majeedheemagu. A special dua will be made there. Maqhrib prayers will be held there. Therefore we request all to come prepared for prayer,” he said.
Sheikh Imran did not reveal the program for the day after the Maqhrib prayers.
He said that the people coming from the islands are coming to fulfill their national obligation so therefore they are requested to arrange their accommodation for themselves. He said that those who are unable to arrange it will be provided help.
Sheikh Imran said that the protest will be held to lift the oppression from all the people of Maldives and will not be concentrated on the oppression on a particular individual or individuals.
“Electricity subsidy has been terminated. Bills have been raised. They are not giving the MVR 10000 they vowed to give to the fishermen. Businesses are being destroyed. Everything is under the control of Adheeb. No one has any freedom,” he said.
Sheikh Imran called police to discuss with Adheeb to solve the problem of Adheeb’s gangs who will try to infiltrate the Mayday protesters.
