Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Maldives Islamic Bank have signed a memorandum of understanding to build the 10 building for the Center for Holy Quran.
A ceremony was held at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to sign the memorandum of understanding for the project.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr, Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
Managing Director of the Maldives Islamic Bank, Haris Harun signed on behalf of the bank.
Answering a question posed by Miadhu Daily, the Minister of Islamic Affairs said that the building location will be the current location of the center for Holy Quran.
He said that he don’t know the exact amount that will be spent on the project as the design of the whole building needs to be changed.
“We have tried to seek help from the Muslim countries. However because of the size of the project. This is the reason for the delay. And today everything has become easy with this. The Islamic Bank will finance the project as per the memorandum of understanding,” he said.
