President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has assured the Police that the Mayday protest will be held within the confines of the law.
Sheikh Imran was summoned to Maldives Police Services for a meeting regarding the protest.
According to the Police media official, it was just a friendly chat between the police and Sheikh Imran to share their concerns.
Sheikh Imran said that the protest will be led by the Adhaalath Party and some officials of MDP and other political parties.
Imran assured that there would be no violence in the May Day protests. He stated that the May Day protests were political and that there was no need for a confrontation with any part.
He requested for Police assistance in case any other party enter the protest and create any commotion. Imran added that he had informed Police that the organizers would not be responsible for any commotion.
