President Yameen Abdul Gayoom has introduced Corporate Residence Visa for foreign investors.
The ceremony to introduce Corporate Residence Visa was held at Dharubaaruge last night.
The visa is available for foreign investors making an investment of more than 50 million US dollars. The investor will have to deposit 1 million US dollars in Bank of Maldives as a security deposit.
In last night’s ceremony, five visa recipients were handed the documents of the visa. The recipients were Bahrain’s Telecommunication company, HDFC investment, Sea plane Holding, Mauritius Commercial Bank, Hitachi limited.
The Visa holders will have permit to use Airport VIP lounge and will get other such benefits.
