President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has said that the tyranny of the government of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will come to an end at 9pm on 1st May.
Sheikh Imran made this remark speaking at the “Maldivians against tyranny” rally held last night at Villimale’.
He said that many rallies and meetings have been held to bring an end to the government oppression. He said that many trips have been organized throughout the country in this regard.
“The end of this journey is coming near,” he said.
Sheikh Imran said that the work to end the oppression needs 1920 hours and from that 1824 hours have passed and 118 hours remain.
He urged all people to remain steadfast in this struggle to bring an end to the sufferings under the despotic rule of President Yameen.
“Eighty percent of the people is with us. We will, Allah willing, end this oppression by 9pm on 1st of May,” he said.
“We have given our votes to two people to govern the nation with justice and fairness. Therefore, we’d like to ask President Yameen to handover the government to Dr. Jameel if he cannot cease his oppression and tyranny. Then we can continue,” he said.
Sheikh Imran said that President Yameen has 118 hours to decide whether he will stop his oppression or continue oppressing the people.
“We will end the oppression from within the confines of the constitution,” he said.
