Sheikh Ilyas Hussein has said that the penal code was passed in the Peoples’ Majlis violating the rights of Allah and also against the constitution.
Sheikh Ilyas made this remark speaking at the lecture held at Alimas Carnival last night which was entitled “It has drawn nigh.”
He said that the Hudood punishments were revealed by Allah and if any of them is changed it is a violation of the rights of Allah.
Sheikh Ilyas said that no Muslim will pass any bills to not implement the Hudood punishments.
He said that not implementing due to the current situation of a country is a different issue. Regardless of the situation, he said that it is not the penal code should not be passed as not to implement the Hudood punishments.
He added that even if such a penal code is passed then it is void. He said that criticizing these oppressions and violations is a religious duty on the shoulders of the religious scholars. “No scholar should be intimidated. No scholar should take any steps back,” he said.
Sheikh Ilyas said that he is undertaking that responsibility and has established the proofs regarding the impermissibility of passing such laws.
