Male’ City Mayor Mohamed Shihab has said that he will meet the people even if it is declared illegal by the government.
Speaking to the media, Mayor Shihab said that has been holding meetings with the people and the government has been trying to stop these meetings.
He said that the Male’ City Council hall is the place where he has been holding meetings with the people. He said that the government is taking the building of the Male’ City Council to stop these meetings.
The Mayor said that the ground floor of Huravee building which was given by the government to the Male’ City Council now has no space to hold such meetings with the people. He said that the meetings has to be held on the street.
“When the meetings are held in the streets. The government will arrest the people since it is place where holding gatherings are illegal” he said.
