The Cabinet has advised President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to reconsider devolution of selected plots of land in the capital to the Male’ City Council.
The Cabinet made this recommendation at its meeting held on 19th April 2015, after discussing a paper presented by the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure on 19th April 2015.
At the meeting, Members of the Cabinet highlighted the developments envisioned for Male’, and identified these locations as key socioeconomic development sites in the time ahead.
According to Vmedia, Galolhu Billoorijehige, which houses Male’ City Council Secretariat, local market block 207 and the reclaimed land north of Bodu Thakurufaanu Magu are to be revoked to the State.
