Gan constituency MP, Fayyaz Ismail has said that the government is tyrannizing the people using independent institutions and it is time for the people to take action.
MP Fayyaz made this remark speaking at last night’s public rally held by the “Maldivians, against tyranny” movement.
He said that the independent institutions either are forced to oppress the people or remain silent threatened with losing their jobs.
Fayyaz said that the leaders of these institutions should be prosecuted for their betrayal and treason. He said that if this is not done than nothing will be solved within the three powers of state.
He said that the Civil Service Commission’s top commissioner is responsible for the civil servants losing their jobs because they are not from the parties representing government coalition.
“First it was political. Now they are intimidating the people by withholding subsidies for electricity. The medium and small enterprises are being destroyed,” he said.
Fayyaz said that the people will stand against the government oppression and will participate in the May 1st protest regardless of the intimidation.
