Sobah Rasheed has said that if not all many political leaders will be framed with crime and arrested before the first of May.
He made this remark speaking at last night’s public rally held by the “Maldivians, against tyranny” movement.
“They are plotting to arrest all political leaders framing them with crime. One of their biggest target is Adhaalath Party leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla,” he said.
Sobah said that the government is plotting to plant narcotics in the residence of Sheikh Imran and prosecute him and sentence him for prison for years.
“They are trying to frame Sheikh Imran in the same way they framed former Defence Minister Colonel Nazim by planting a gun,” he said.
“They will not be able to do this. Sheikh Imran’s residence is full of books of knowledge and religion. He will not use anything that is not allowed by the constitution,” he said.
Sobah said that the government wants to persecute every political leader who makes any criticism on the government.
“This only exposes that the government is despotic and oppressive,” he said.
