Jumhooree Party leader and Maamigili constituency MP, Gasim Ibrahim has appealed even the Peoples’ Majlis to work to protect the rights of investors.
Gasim made this remark speaking at the Economic Committee of the Peoples’ Majlis yesterday.
He said that it is injustice to suddenly terminate agreements made with investors without any rights because of a change in the government policies.
Gasim said that the Majlis should stop such measures taken by the government and should protect the rights of the investors.
He said that Maldives is not a country of just one individual or one party. He said that sincerity to the people and the nation should not be paid with how the present government currently doing.
“The Majlis should value the works of investors and it should be shown from what is being done in the Majlis whether it be the changes and amendments brought to the laws,” he said.
The government today will be freezing the accounts of Gasim Ibrahim, one of the biggest investors in Maldives.
