Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has adviced the Police to remain steadfast upon their hard work and upholding their responsibilities.
Vice President made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at Kulhdhufushi to celebrate the 82nd anniversary of Maldives Police Service.
He called the Police to work hard to resolve the issues in the society by curbing the crime rate. He also said that it is important that they work hand in hand with the people to resolve the social ills in the society.
The Vice President said that the Police represent the law and therefore they also should represent democratic moral values.
“There is no doubt that the Police have the biggest responsibility in upholding the constitution and laws,” he said.
He said that the peace and safety of the country strongly depended on the strength of its police force.
